About Justyna
I am photographer from Poland, based in Tbilisi, Georgia since 2003. My works have been published internationally by the Wall Street Journal, National Geographic, Newsweek, Le Monde, Stern, The New York Times- among others. They won numerous awards: World Press Photo, Canon Female Photojournalist Prize, Caucasus Young Photographer Award by Magnum Foundation, Aftermath Project Grant and Eugene Smith Fund in 2016.

Most important part of my work is devoted to personal, long term projects published as books.
In 2014 my first Book was released :“Woman with a Monkey-Caucasus in Short Notes and Photographs".
In 2019 my second book :“Ukraine Runs Through it“ was published. It was shortlisted among twenty best books by Paris Photo and Aperture. There came Covid time when all was put on the hold.
In February 2022 my latest Book project: GOGO was printed while I stayed for few weeks in Ukraine to document full scale Russian Invasion. War overshadowed that project, but it's here and it's my 3rd book I am very proud of.
Selected photographs which I took in Ukraine during 2022 while on assignments for the Wall Street Journal were published in compilation books dedicated to Ukraine at war:
"Relentless Courage: Ukraine and the World at War”(by Bluestarpress in 2022), and “Ukraine: A War Crime“ (by FotoEvidence n 2023).
I teach photography workshops in person and on-line, both for groups and individuals.
I am also available for lectures on the topic I specialize in: different aspects of transformations and current geo-political dynamics in countries of Central Europe and New Eastern Europe (before described as Post Soviet Space), in particular Caucasus and Ukraine. I speak and read fluent : Polish , English , Russian. I understand Ukrainian language and Silesian dialect fluently.
